How to install the official app
Use the install path the operator publishes on its own site. On iOS, that is the App Store; on Android, that is either Google Play or the operator's official APK download page. App Store route
On iOS, the install path is the App Store. Tap Get and authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID or Apple ID. The install is automatic. Where the App Store is unavailable in a particular region, the iOS install path is not available either, and the reader must rely on the web route.
Android install path
Google Play route and APK route
On Android, the install path is either Google Play or a direct APK download from the operator's site. Google Play is the simpler route: search the listing, confirm the developer name, tap Install. What the device will ask
The device will ask for permissions during install. The expected permissions for a rummy app are storage and, on some platforms, the camera (for KYC document upload). Unexpected permissions (contacts, SMS, microphone) warrant a second look; the operator's permissions list on the install page should match the device's permissions prompt.

Version checks
What the version number tells you
The version number on the install page should match the version published on the operator's site. A newer version on a third-party mirror than on the official site is a signal. The operator's site is the source of truth.
Where the operator publishes a SHA-256 hash of the install file, compare it to the hash of the file you have downloaded. A mismatch is a hard signal; the install should not proceed.
